A/Prof Chan Yew Weng was the Head of Anaesthesiology, SGH from 1993 till 2001.
He is a member of the Conference Ambassador Programme (Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau) and is active in organizing educational forums and medical meetings in Singapore. His current clinical interest is in medical innovation that improves patient‘s safety and wellbeing.
A/Prof Chan is the Chief Convenor and Congress President of the 18th World Congress of Anaesthesiologists to be held in Singapore in March 2024 under the auspices of
the Singapore Society of Anaesthesiologists and the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists.

Associate Professor Ong Biauw Chi
Group Chief Risk Officer, SingHealth
Senior Consultant, Department of Anaesthesiology, Singapore General Hospital A/Prof Ong Biauw Chi is Senior Consultant Anaesthesiologist at SingHealth. She was the Head of Anaesthesiology, SGH from 2009 till 2014. She was the team lead in the separation of the Nepalese Craniopagus twins (2001), which is on record the longest surgery, and the Iranian Craniopagus twins (2003).
She was involved in the planning and operation of the Sengkang General Hospital as its first Chairman of the Medical Board and stepped down in July 2021 after 9 years. During this period, she led the hospital in its COVID-19 efforts both in the hospital as well as in the dormitory. She was one of 8 women named Woman of the Year by Her World in 2020. She is currently appointed Group Chief Risk Officer of SingHealth.

Dr Lim Wan Yen
Consultant, Department of Anaesthesiology, Sengkang General Hospital
Dr Lim Wan Yen is a Consultant Anaesthesiologist at both Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) and Singapore General Hospital. Her subspecialty interests include Perioperative Medicine and Airway Management. She is also the Deputy Director of SKH's Operating Theatre Management Unit and the Lead of the Preoperative Evaluation Clinic (PEC). Dr Lim was instrumental in the setup and implementation of the PEC teleconsultation service in SKH during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her team was awarded the best quality project by SingHealth Anaesthesiology Academic Clinical Programme (ACP) for achieving high patient satisfaction scores and no surgical cancellations. She was also involved with the implementation of My Surgery App for SKH to improve the surgical patient's journey. Dr Lim is always passionate about patient safety and quality and is actively involved in many quality improvement projects in SKH and across the Singhealth. She also educates residents on telemedicine and is the principal investigator of a telemedicine research project which was awarded a grant.

Associate Professor Hairil Rizal Abdullah
Director, Perioperative Services
Senior Consultant, Department of Anaesthesiology, Singapore General Hospital A/Prof Hairil Rizal Bin Abdullah is a senior Consultant anaesthesiologist and the Clinical Director of Perioperative Services, Division of Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine in Singapore General Hospital (SGH). As a perioperative physician, he is passionate about improving the outcomes of patients undergoing surgery. A/Prof Hairil also led the team that redesigned the preoperative procedure at SGH, leading to the establishment of the Preoperative Assessment Centre, a one-stop multidisciplinary facility for assessing and optimizing patients before elective surgery. He has also championed multiple perioperative initiatives in SGH, such as perioperative Patient Blood Management program, Prehabilitation prior to surgery program and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) pathways. These clinical programs have earned both national and international recognition, including the privilege of hosting the largest perioperative medicine conference (EBPOM) in Singapore and winning a national award for the Prehabilitation program. He currently oversees numerous Value Driven Care initiatives across SGH as the Institutional Value Lead and Chair of the ERAS Committee. A/Prof Hairil also started the perioperative medicine research team in 2013 and has since led numerous studies looking at innovative methods for perioperative risk assessment and risk mitigation strategies. This team is currently Singapore's only research team with a focus on identifying ways to improve perioperative outcomes. The research team's findings have influenced national and institutional policies.

Dr Chong Shin Yuet
Senior Consultant, Department of Anaesthesiology, Singapore General Hospital
Dr Chong Shin Yuet is a senior consultant in the SGH Department of Anaesthesia and is currently the Director of Paediatric Anaesthesia in SGH.
A passionate educator, she is the Lead for Simulation Education in the SingHealth Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Sciences ACP, and is also the Campus Director for SGH in SIMS (Singhealth- Duke NUS Institute for Medical Simulation). She is one of the core faculty in the SingHealth Anaesthesiology Residency Programme, and is also involved in the teaching of medical students and nurses. As one of the international faculty who teaches the Master Debriefer Course at the Debriefing Academy, she believes that debriefing encourages reflection and learning, which ultimately translates to better patient care.

Dr Tan ZiHui
Consultant, Department of Anaesthesiology, Singapore General Hospital
Dr Tan is currently an Associate Consultant in the Department of Anaesthesiology in Singapore General Hospital. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Leicester, UK in 2009 and went on to complete her anaesthesiology training with Singhealth Anaesthesiology Residency Program (SHARP) in 2017. She subsequently completed a one-year fellowship in cardiothoracic anaesthesia at Royal Papworth Hospital, UK and is accredited in transoesophageal echocardiography. During the pandemic, she was involved in a number of innovation projects and received the best team award from the Singapore Health Quality Service Awards as well as Workplace Safety & Health Innovation Award.
