Asian Federation of Sports Medicine (AFSM) was inaugurated in 1990 at the time of the 11th Asian Games in Beijing. Incorporated since November 2018, Persatuan Perkilangan Peranti Perubatan (PERANTIM) – or also known as Malaysia Medical Devices Manufacturers Association (MMDMA), is an association with an eager purpose of developing and grooming the Malaysia Medical Devices Industry alongside leveraging the country export and international trade performance.
Malaysia’s current exports has escalated to 50-60% of the world demand, while ably complying to USFDA/CE Mark requirements. Administrators of several private hospitals convened and decided to form an association of private hospitals nationwide on March 13, 1979 in Antipolo, Rizal that will properly address the problems of the industry. Thus, the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PHAP) was born.
PHAP operates on a national scope and has a growing membership of over 600 members throughout the country. Out of the 1,071 licensed private hospitals at the Department of Health, 50% are recognized members of the association who actively participate and support all the PHAP activities since its inception.
The association conducts regional seminars and symposia in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao periodically. PHAP has been undertaking continuing professional education program and has conducted over 6 programs per year since its foundation in 1979.
PHAP is cooperating with different government agencies such as the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth), Department of Health (DOH) and the House of Representatives in facing various pending laws that will affect the private hospitals systems and administration. The association also organizes ICD-10 Coding of Diseases in cooperating with the PhilHealth since year 2008 to present (2011).
PHAP being an organization, which is dedicated to the management and concerns of private hospitals in the Philippines, is the appropriate organization to represent the concerns of the private hospitals nationwide.
